All of the cryptoassets inside your connected exchange accounts are covered by CoverCrypto! However, please note that fiat currencies are not covered by your CoverCrypto membership.
Connecting to Kraken exchange instructions
Step 1: Log in to your CoverCrypto account, and click the ‘+ Add crypto account’ button on the 'Covered accounts' page.
Step 2: Click on 'Kraken' inside the Exchanges section of the connection widget.
Step 3: Follow the below instructions to create your Crypto.com exchange API Key & Secret Key. If you prefer, you can follow the instructions given by Kraken on their website:
a) Log in to your Kraken account
b) Navigate to the 9-dot menu in top right hand corner, and click on 'Kraken Pro' (middle option)
c) On this page below, navigate to your account (user icon in top right) and click on 'Settings'
d) Navigate to the 'API' tab (tab 5)
e) Click on the purple button 'Generate API key'
f) Name the API key whatever you wish (we name the key 'CoverCrypto' below), and importantly, ONLY select the options we have selected below (Query in Funds permissions & Query ledger entries in Data).
📕 Please note
Do not select any of the other options in 'stage f', as this could pose a security risk for your exchange account if they key is compromised. The 2 options we have selected here in 'stage f' ensure your API is read-only, and therefore your Cryptoassets are completely safe.
g) Enter your 2FA code
h) Copy and paste your 'API key' and 'Private key' as shown below, into the Vezgo widget shown within your CoverCrypto account. *Note: make sure you copy these codes exactly, as the Private key won't be shown again. If lost you will need to repeat the above stages again.
